The Beginning of Something New

 With the end of our long-running Dwindle campaign, I have the grand task of planning the next campaign to run my players through. I have an idea of the elements I want, I just need to get them all mushed together into something I can mold in the shape of a game.

So this will be a bit of a brainstorming post, where I lay out my checklist of what I want (and what I think my players want) in my next game.

The Players' Wants

• Alan wants a Fantasy setting with lots of different species.
• Brent likes weird science.
• Brent also likes narrative dice outcomes (aka degrees of success)
• The other 4 players are all fairly new to our table, but I have a feeling they mostly like silliness, in other words, a setting that doesn't take itself too seriously.

My Wants

• Collectively, we need something episodic. As we will probably be missing from 1 to 3 players each session.
• I also want Fantasy, but I want it mixed with Cyberpunk. My setting idea of Vaethir will fit this well, and will tie into Brent's love of weird science.
• I want there to be something the players are chasing, but also something chasing the players. 
• I want my idea for the TechNoir Adjectives and The Resistance (ie Spire: TCMF) Fallout mashup.
• I want advancement to be as a team instead of individual (this is to help the players who can't often avoid falling behind in levels)
• I have an idea for a meta resource that flows from a center pool to the players, to the GM, back to the pool. 
• I want to be able to use the TechNoir shopping system (each tag = +1 cost)
• I want to be able to create a series of "Transmissions" so facilitate creating episodes on the fly.

That feels like a lot of wants. Luckily a lot of the player and my own wants have overlap. As for the systems. They are basically in place. I just need the time to sit and put them on paper, so to speak.

The hardest part is deciding what the PCs will be doing in the world. General troubleshooters like Shadowrun, monster hunters, floating vagabond etc... I think I'll need to take a poll from everyone.
