Spire: The City Must Fall & the End of Dwindle pt 2
This is a continuation from my post on Monday. Just in case you missed it, I should restate the opening paragraph for this post to make more sense.
Our game group has really blossomed in the past few months. And with everyone having families and responsibilities it is increasingly difficult to schedule a session with everyone present. We are currently sitting prettily at 7 members. I dropped hints at the game where we reached 6 members, that it might be time to move from our Dwindle campaign. Then there was lockdown level 2.5, a major holiday, and several near game days where we just couldn't get the players together.
After we finished playing Spire. We had a short conversation. What to do with our game. With so many players, we will consistently be down some number of players each session. This means we need a more episodic campaign. One of the core players (3 of us have been playing together since 2014 or 2015) finally admitted that it was time to move on to another game. This tickled me pink, as I have grown a bit bored with the Dwindle campaign.
So my plans for Dwindle are:
- Finish-up the PDF. As I am, for the time being, finished playing it, I probably will not add much more to the GM section.
- Write up a Setting. I don't think it will take much to write up a vague fantasy setting, and stat out some major NPCs and monsters.
- Art it up. I need to finish up the art. I want to add some color splashes here and there. I just can't decide if I want to use the vermilion that accents the PDF and this website, or its compliment which is the cyan also found on the website.
- Distribute. The webpage ruleset and artless PDF will be here on this blog. The artful PDF and setting will be available through Patreon. I will set that up when the artful PDF is finished.
This will be on hiatus as I try to get our next game hammered out. I know what I want, but that will be a post for Friday.
