Dwindle Play

Yesterday my game group was able to get together. We had a full group, including a new player who just got out of quarantine. This means we are up to 6 total members (5PCs, 1GM). I realized that I am going to have to be more strict at splitting the spotlight time between players a little better.

I am personally wanting to start a new game. I'm sort of tired of the current PCs' modus operandi is to go into a town and cause as much chaos as possible, and then run away. We are running in the 13th Age default setting (just because it was ready made and fairly standard). They rocked into Santa Cora to register their new religion that they have created, which was a great excuse to introduce them to the new PC who happens to be a paladin.

They decided to hold a rave to celebrate their religion's creation, and to try to find new members. Everything mostly went well for them, until the Empire showed up to challenge them on some outstanding warrants. They had some good rolls, and were able to point the Empire to another location, run ahead of the authorities, and setup a booby-trap.

One Kaiju battle later, 28 people in town had died. I think it is time for a major crack down against them. Probably a special task force of Empire military backed up with Archmage special forces.

Dwindle Rewrite

So Dwindle is in need of a major rewrite. I told the players that if we are going to continue this game, I am going to rewrite some of the rules. The result of which will cause a lot of their abilities to seriously change.

They seemed ok with the idea.

So the next few posts will be my rewriting of the rules.

One thing that made me happy is that one of my players has begun to run a game of Dwindle for his son and his son's friends. That makes me a little proud.
